We visited over 6-7 camps in rural areas of Rajasthan and conducted group and individual interviews to gain deeper understanding of the users. We also conducted a group interview of 5 volunteers and implementation partners to understand the challenges they face during the program duration.

Problem Statement
Nothing today, helps the NGO maintain visibility and gives access to reliable data.
Scattered information data, lack of local context and redundancy of information is rampant and obstructs on-ground teaching camps and affects the administration.
Solution through the Findings
“A reliable way to source and store data and conduct camps that will help improve visibility across user groups”
Project Pragati Apps will enable this through developing a knowledge base, learning, reliable data sourcing, better & easy conduction of camps.

Information Architecture
We designed three different IAs for different users and various scenarios.
The major issue faced by the NGO during this process was duplication and multiple enrollments of same learners by different volunteers. We solved that by using Aadhaar Numbers as they are unique IDs given to every Indian.

Age group - 25 to 60 years
Gender - All Females

(Users were asked to perform multiple tasks which were recorded and observed by me as the user researcher on field. Later we analyzed and visualized the data to understand what worked and what didn’t.)

What Works
  • All candidates enjoyed the flow and didn’t realize they were filling out a form until the submit button was clicked.
  • The new Learner identification process felt easy and short compared to the Mform (Older Method).
  • Candidates were easily able to navigate through the application.
  • Candidates were able to complete 80% of tasks without any support.
  • All candidates said they would be able to fill the form without any supervision.
We were able to identify the pain points in this flow through the User Testings, based on which we recommended a few more iterations of the current UX as future scope to streamline the process even furthermore.
